End of the School Year

Please remember the following important dates as we near the end of the school year. I hope it has been a great year for everyone and I pray you each have a fun, relaxing summer. I will be available in my office during the summer, so please call me anytime that you need assistance or you think of some important question that you need answered. I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication. You deserve a refreshing of your body, soul, and spirit this summer so you can return in August ready to take on the new challenges of the 2010 - 2011 school year.

April 27, 2010 - Completion of all reevaluations thru September 30, 2010
April 30, 2010 - ESY information due to Sharleen Williams
May 3, 2010 - Identify Transition students for 2010 -11 year
May 14, 2010 - Complete all data sheets for students changing to new schools
May 14, 2010 IEP verification forms due to your pro specialist
May 27, 2010 - last day for students (snow make-up)
May 28, 2010 - last day for teachers

The Blog Begins

I would like to introduce myself and share my experiences through the ongoing development of my Blog. I plan to share updates from the Birmingham City School System, especially those concerning the Special Education Department, and updates from the Alabama State Department of Education. As new information is forwarded to me, I will post it on this blog. I hope it will be enlightening and make teaching a little more informative. I hope to also share a little humor and maybe a few tips for making life more enjoyable. I hope each of you who visit my blog will return and also share your experiences with me.
